Tietoa henkilöstä Anna
My name is Anna, I am 25 y.o, I have recently obtained my Master’s and moving on to a PhD in Phonetics.
I’ve been a private tutor in various languages, including English, for the past three years, and I have experience of working with different age groups - from 5 to 50 y.o.
English is not my mother tongue, but I view it as an advantage rather than a flaw, because I know what aspects might be challenging to learn and understand, while native speakers often see those things as self-evident.
Also, I am a linguist, so instead of making you learn things by heart I’d rather give you a theoretical explanation that helps you understand the rule instead of just remembering it (but, of course, if that doesn’t work for you, we can always switch back, everyone learns differently).
In my lessons I prefer to focus on spoken language, since that is the part that most people seem to struggle with, and also the part that requires a lot of practice with another person (or people). I believe individual lessons are a more comfortable environment to begin practicing, but later in your journey would suggest some group work.

My approach varies depending on your end goal and current situation, but generally I prefer to rely more on live interaction rather than textbooks and homework.
Whether you’re a school student struggling with the basics or a professional willing to expand your work opportunities, or just a curious mind looking for some linguistic insight into your passion language - I hope to help you out in an interesting and efficient way.
The duration of our study course will depend on your situation, as well as the format and timing of the lessons.
I speak several other languages fluently, but I prefer to teach exclusively in English.
