Teacher Profile
I am a Master’s student in Intercultural Communication at the University of Jyväskylä, with over 10 years of professional experience in communication and training. Having worked with international organisations and diverse teams, I understand the challenges beginners face when learning a new language.
I started teaching English during my undergraduate years, helping classmates improve their speaking and writing skills. Since then, I have tutored professionals, students, and newcomers, guiding them to build confidence step by step. My teaching style is clear, supportive, and practical — always focused on real-life use of English, not just theory.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students personally. I know how it feels to learn a new language myself, as I am currently studying Finnish. This makes me patient, empathetic, and skilled at explaining difficult concepts in simple, relatable ways.
I use interactive methods such as role-playing, storytelling, and everyday conversation practice. Many of my past students have gone from shy beginners to confident speakers who can use English in work, school, and social settings.
By combining my academic background, professional communication expertise, and a passion for teaching, I ensure that each student learns English in a way that is both enjoyable and effective.

Course Description
This course is designed for absolute beginners who want to start learning English step by step. The focus is on building confidence in everyday communication through simple grammar, practical vocabulary, and lots of speaking practice.
Students will learn English in a supportive and friendly environment, using real-life examples such as greetings, shopping, travel, and everyday conversations. I combine clear explanations with interactive activities, role-plays, and practice exercises.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to introduce themselves, ask and answer basic questions, use simple sentencthe es in the present tense, and understand short conversations in English.
Week 1–2
Lesson: Alphabet, pronunciation, and greetings
Practice: Introduce yourself and others through short dialogues
Lesson: Numbers, days, and months
Practice: Ask and answer simple questions using numbers and dates
Week 3–4
Lesson: Basic sentence structure (subject–verb–object)
Practice: Build short sentences about daily activities
Lesson: Everyday vocabulary (food, family, home, school)
Practice: Role-play conversations in common situations
Week 5–6
Lesson: Present tense verbs (to be, to have, simple actions)
Practice: Speak about yourself and others using present tense
Lesson: Reading and writing simple sentences
Practice: Write a short description of yourself or your family
Week 7–8
Lesson: Practical English for daily life (shopping, directions, appointments)
Practice: Role-play asking for help in a shop or asking for directions
Lesson: Listening to short conversations
Practice: Answer questions based on audio or short dialogues
Review: Go over key topics from all weeks
Practice: Conversation games and mock real-life scenarios
