Nimeni on Valeri Filippov ja olen kansainvälinen suurmestari, jolla on 2656 USCF ja 2553 FIDE. Vuonna 2000 minusta tuli opiskelijoiden maailmanmestari. Vuonna 2005 pääsin maailman 50 parhaan shakinpelaajan joukkoon, ja vuonna 2003 liityin Yhdysvaltojen 10 vahvimman shakinpelaajan joukkoon. Minulla on valtava kokemus esityksistä ja voitoista erilaisissa kansainvälisissä turnauksissa. Osallistuin myös Venäjän maajoukkueeseen kansainvälisissä shakkiolympialaisissa vuonna 2004. Kilpailijoinani olivat vahvimmat kansainväliset shakkimestarit, kuten Michael Adams, Alexander Grischuk, Etienne Bacrot, Vassili Ivanchuk, Peter Leko, Peter Svidler ja muut.
Opetuskokemuksestani:
Aloitin opettamisen vuonna 2005. Työskentelin 8 vuotta Venäjän shakkiseurassa. Vuodesta 2013 lähtien olen opettanut verkossa. Tänä aikana opiskelijani nostivat arvosanaa yli 5000 pisteellä. Auttelin joitain opiskelijoita saamaan ensimmäiset kansainväliset shakkitittelit (luokka). Toiset olivat kiinnostuneita parantamaan online-luokitustaan osoitteessa (piilotettu tieto). Oppilaistani tuli toistuvasti shakkiseurojen, kaupunkien ja jopa osavaltioiden mestareita.

Jokaisella opiskelijallani on yksilöllinen ohjelma. Ensimmäisessä vaiheessa tavoitteenani on arvioida lapsen taitoja. Toisin sanoen – ymmärtää laskennan taso, kuinka hyvä on avausohjelma, onko hän kuullut loppupelistä jne. Sen jälkeen laadimme avausten työsuunnitelman. Sanon, mitä avauksia meidän on parannettava mahdollisimman pian ja mitkä on tiedettävä tulevaisuudessa. Avausten lisäksi erittäin tärkeä asia on loppupeli ja strategia.
Nämä ovat kaksi vaikeinta elementtiä. Loppupelissä työskentelemme tyypillisissä asemissa. Selitän mitkä palat tulee ottaa loppuun ja mitkä ei. Pidän myös strategian opettamisesta opiskelijoilleni. Useimmissa kouluissa sitä ei selitetä, koska se on hankalaa jopa valmentajalle. Työvuosien aikana olen luonut noin 30 strategiatuntia, asettanut erityistehtäviä jne. Käytäntö osoittaa, että näiden tuntien ansiosta opiskelijan shakkiymmärrys on kasvanut.
Tärkeintä on laskelma. Annan melko suuria kotitehtäviä, jotka on omistettu taktiikalle. Se voi olla yleinen voittolaskennan, avaus- tai loppupelin laskelma. Hallitsen kotitehtäviä, koska kokemus osoittaa, että monet opiskelijat rentoutuvat ja laiskottavat heti, kun heillä on valmentaja. En kuitenkaan anna sen tapahtua.
