Tietoa henkilöstä Agil
My name is Agil Pirverdiyev. I am a FIDE Master and a FIDE-certified trainer based in Baku, Azerbaijan, and I have been teaching chess for fifteen years to more than 100 students.
My playing record: rating 2411 in classical chess and 2508 in rapid. I became Under 16 World Champion in 2011 and Under 14 European Champion, and I won a team silver medal at the Chess Olympiad. I also hold the FIDE arbiter title, and I have won open tournaments in Italy, Switzerland, France and Spain.
Away from the board I hold a Master's degree in Economics, which is why my lessons are built around clear plans and measurable progress rather than vague advice.

Every course starts with a free 30-minute meeting. In that meeting I look at your games or play a few positions with you, tell you honestly where your level is, and we agree on what the first ten lessons should fix. Nothing is generic: a 900-rated child and a 1800-rated club player get completely different plans.
How a lesson runs:
- We work in a live video call on Lichess or Chess.com, so you see my board and I see your thinking.
- Openings: a small, practical repertoire you can actually remember, chosen to fit your style, not a database dump.
- Middlegame: pawn structures, piece placement, how to form a plan when nothing forcing is on the board.
- Endgames: the positions that really decide games - rook endings, king and pawn, opposite bishops.
- Calculation and tactics: trained with timed exercises, so it transfers to a real clock.
- Homework after every lesson, and your own games analysed line by line before the next one.
- Tournament preparation: opponent scouting, time management and how to recover after a loss.
I teach children from about six years old, adults returning to the game, and competitive players preparing for rated events. My students play in tournaments across Europe, the Gulf and Asia.
