Tietoa henkilöstä Eda
I am Eda, a piano student in Sibelius Academy. Currently, in the last year of my Bachelor’s degree. I have entered and won several international piano competitions and performed internationally. I have most of my teaching experience with younger children (5-11), although I can teach piano to all ages, and any genre you want to learn, is fine with me. ( I can teach live or online, I can teach in English and in Turkish)

Learning the piano at a young age offers several benefits. Firstly, it helps develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It also strengthens cognitive abilities such as memory, concentration, and problem-solving. Learning to read sheet music enhances literacy skills. Additionally, playing the piano can foster creativity, self-expression, and emotional development. Starting early provides a longer time for practice and mastery, potentially leading to advanced musical abilities later in life.

My teaching method and techniques:
- I try to create a very calming and comfortable environment when I am teaching. I try to make piano playing as much fun as possible.
- I am warm and talkative. Students never hesitate to ask me questions.
- I get along with young children very well.
Typical lesson plan:
- We go over what we have learned the last time (or in the past). The student has a little “performance” to the teacher.
- I give constructive feedback over the piece(s) the student has played.
The next part depends on the student. It could be either:
a) This is for the little ones: Either We play games helping with learning finger numbers, rhythm, note names. Or, we do ear training. Then we learn a new piece. After we have learned the piece, we discuss homework.
b) This is for the adults: We discuss which pieces the student will want to play in the future so we’ll have a plan to learn an amount of pieces by a certain date. And according to the pieces, we will work on technique, musicality and quality in playing. For technique we’ll go over some exercises and scales.
Extra information:
- We would choose a book after the first few lessons, and then it would be necessary for the student to buy their own book. (max.30€, or you could find them in the library)
- I would want the student to have a notebook with them to every lesson.
