I hold a Master of Science in Computer Science from Åbo Akademi University in Finland, which might seem unconventional for an English tutor. My academic journey was conducted entirely in English, from writing a thesis to presenting research, collaborating with international peers, and navigating complex technical material in my second language environment. I know exactly what it takes to communicate clearly, precisely, and persuasively in English because I have had to do it at the highest academic level.
Beyond the classroom, my professional life has been built on communication. I have guided international visitors through an Arctic adventure park in Finnish Lapland. I have tutored incoming master's students at my university, helping them adapt not just to a new academic system but to an entirely new culture and language environment. I have worked remotely with global teams reviewing and improving AI-generated content.
I speak four languages: English, Bengali, Hindi, and A1 Finnish, and that multilingual foundation gives me something most native speaker tutors simply cannot offer. I understand the mechanics of language learning from the inside. I know where the tricky parts are, why certain structures feel unnatural, and how to bridge the gap between thinking in your mother tongue and expressing yourself fluently in English.

My approach to teaching English is rooted in conversation and storytelling. I believe language sticks when it's tied to real experiences, not just textbook exercises. Having lived and worked across Finland, guiding international visitors, tutoring university students, and collaborating in multilingual teams, I bring that lived cross-cultural perspective directly into my lessons.
A typical session starts with a warm-up conversation to gauge where you are and what's on your mind. From there, I tailor each lesson around your goals: whether that's building confidence in everyday spoken English, writing skills, or sharpening pronunciation. I use a mix of real-world materials, like, articles, or podcasts, alongside structured grammar and vocabulary work when needed.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people from very different backgrounds. I understand firsthand what it feels like to learn and think in a new language, since I started learning Finnish. I've guided small children to adults through activities and helped master's students settle into a new country, so I'm comfortable adapting to any age or level.
My lessons are intended for anyone looking to improve their English: beginners building a foundation or intermediate learners who want to break through a plateau. I teach language in an analytical way because pattern recognition is the key to understanding.
