Tietoa henkilöstä Mugunthan
I am Mugunthan, a medical doctor and healthcare strategist currently based in Helsinki. My background spans clinical medicine, business leadership, and education — I hold a medical degree and a finance degree from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and have spent over a decade leading healthcare organisations across Southeast Asia.
I have trained and mentored hundreds of professionals throughout my career, and I have always believed that good teaching is fundamentally about empathy — understanding how someone thinks before deciding how to explain something to them.
I moved to Helsinki to be with my family and am genuinely excited to contribute to this community through teaching. I am a lifelong learner myself, currently studying Finnish, and I know firsthand what it takes to build skills from the ground up as an adult.
I bring patience, structure, and real-world perspective to every session. My students can expect honesty, encouragement, and lessons that are always tailored to their specific goals.

My lessons are built around one principle: understanding, not memorising. As a medical doctor and former healthcare executive, I have spent my career breaking down complex information into clear, actionable thinking — and that is exactly what I bring to every tutoring session.
I teach English at all levels, from foundational grammar and writing skills to advanced IELTS and TOEFL preparation. For Maths, I cover secondary school through pre-university level, with a strong focus on building logical reasoning alongside problem-solving technique.
My approach is structured but flexible. Every student learns differently, so I begin each engagement by understanding where you are, where you want to go, and what is getting in the way. Sessions are conducted in English and are available both online and face-to-face in Helsinki.
