Hi, I'm Nhu Y! I'm originally from Vietnam and currently in my final year of Hospitality and Tourism Management studies in Finland — so if there's one thing I understand deeply, it's what it's like to build a life and a career in a language that isn't your first.
I grew up speaking Vietnamese, then learned English through school and years of real-world practice, and I'm now also picking up Spanish and Finnish along the way. That journey taught me a lot about what actually helps when learning a language: patience, real conversation practice, and a teacher who makes you feel comfortable making mistakes.
Before moving to Finland, I worked in front office at a five-star international resort in Vietnam, where English was my main working language every single day — handling guest requests, solving problems, and communicating with people from all over the world. That experience shaped the way I teach: clear, practical, and focused on real communication rather than just textbook rules.
Outside of studies and teaching, I love learning about different cultures, exploring new languages myself, and connecting with people from all kinds of backgrounds — which is honestly one of my favorite parts of tutoring.

I'm a final-year Hospitality and Tourism Management student, and I've spent the last few years using English every single day — with international guests at a five-star resort, with classmates from all over the world during my studies in Finland, and in my own life juggling four languages (Vietnamese, English, Spanish, and Finnish).
