I want to share my knowledge and vast experiences with the younger engineers in spe. I like to teach, and I would like to stay active even during my retirement.
I retired from the Department of Information Technology of The CENTRIA University of Applied Sciences in Kokkola, Finland. In 1976, I graduated with honours from the Faculty of Process Engineering of the Łódź University of Technology in Poland. Being a researcher in the Department of Bioengineering, I studied applied mathematics and data processing at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Łódź University of Technology in Poland and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry of the University of Łódź, Poland. Since 1980, I worked for research and development centres in the biochemical and chemical industries. I had managerial positions in departments of scientific data processing. In 1986, I defended my doctoral dissertation on mathematical modelling and simulation of industrial processes. After that, I became an adjunct professor at the National Textile Research Institute in Poland. In 1989, I began to work for Finn-Power Lillbacka Corporation in Kauhava, Finland. I was employed as a senior software engineer in the department of production automation, developing flexible manufacturing systems for the sheet metal industry. Between 1997 and 2002, I worked as a senior software engineer for Beamex, Sarlin Group in Pietarsaari, Finland, developing software for calibrating and maintaining processing systems. In 2002, I was employed at Metorex Int. in Espoo, Finland developing software to analyse metal compositions. I participated in projects financed by the Finnish Government and the European Space Agency. Since 2004, I have been employed at CENTRIA University of Applied Sciences, lecturing on the theory and design of information systems and software engineering and programming languages, cryptography, and information society. I am the author or co-author of over forty articles, twenty non-published technical specifications and documentation, fifteen industrial implementations of industrial software systems for control and data processing, and four patents. I took part in more than twenty research and developing projects for chemical, biochemical and manufacturing industries which results were implemented in Poland, Finland, Germany, Russia, and the USA.
