My name is Noora, and I studied to be a Finnish language teacher at the University of Jyväskylä. I'm originally from Lapland, but I moved to Tampere about 1.5 years ago – I'm still getting used to such a big city!
I love literature and reading. I am a big fan of (Japanese) popular culture, and I am currently writing a non-fiction book about Studio Ghibli films. I love Finnish culture and folklore.

At the first meeting (free of charge), we will discuss your goals and plan the teaching together. After the assessment meeting, I will create a learning plan for you based on what has been agreed upon (how many times we will meet, goals, etc.). At this point, you can decide whether you want to continue studying with me. If we start working together, we will agree on a more detailed schedule and we will start studying!
I have worked as an integration trainer and a Finnish as a second language teacher in basic education for children.
I am easy to approach, I come up with good examples and I am a flexible teacher. My goal is to be as clear and consistent as possible. I hope that the student will tell me if they would like different teaching methods or content from me. Openness is the foundation of everything. 🫶
It is important to me that both parties feel safe and comfortable in the teaching situation. I utilize both feminist and positive pedagogy methods, and I emphasize the principles of a safer space in teaching.
My job is to learn how you like to study, and to help, support and encourage you along the way. 🩷
