Hello! My name is Jamie, and I am a 30-year-old native English speaker from England who now lives in Finland with my wife. Music has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I have spent over 15 years playing guitar in various bands throughout England.
Since moving to Finland, I have continued pursuing my passion for music and currently play guitar in a band called Indigo Dream.
Outside of music, I enjoy playing video games, watching football, and attending concerts and music festivals.
As a teacher, I strive to create a relaxed, friendly, and supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and enjoy the learning process. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to improve your skills, I am committed to helping you achieve your musical goals while having fun along the way.

My teaching approach is centred around making learning enjoyable, practical, and tailored to each student's individual goals. As someone who has played guitar in bands across England for over 15 years, I combine solid technical instruction with real-world musical experience to help students become confident and capable musicians.
Teaching Techniques and Methods
I focus on a balance of technique, musical understanding, and playing enjoyment. Lessons may include chord work, rhythm training, scales, lead guitar techniques, improvisation, ear training, songwriting, and basic music theory. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student's learning pace and preferred musical genres.
Typical Course Flow
The first lesson focuses on understanding the student's current ability, musical interests, and goals. From there, I create a personalised learning plan. A typical lesson includes a review of previous material, introduction of new concepts or techniques, guided practice, and clear goals to work on before the next session.
What Makes Me Different
My experience performing in bands for more than 15 years allows me to teach practical skills that go beyond textbook learning. I can help students develop confidence playing with other musicians, performing live, writing songs, and understanding how music works in real-world situations. I create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace.
Who My Lessons Are For
My lessons are suitable for complete beginners, intermediate players, and anyone looking to improve their guitar skills. I teach teenagers and adults of all ages, whether their goal is to play for fun, join a band, write music, improve technique, or prepare for performances. Lessons are taught in fluent English and are adapted to each student's individual needs and musical interests.
