Tietoa henkilöstä Vlad
I am currently working as a doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, and I hold a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry as well as a Master's degree in Molecular Medicine from the University of Oulu.
What distinguishes me from traditional school teachers is my hands-on experience in biochemical research. Unlike many educators who primarily teach from textbooks, I have personally worked with the very equipment and techniques that students often only read about in their school books. This practical experience allows me to bring a unique, real-world perspective to my teaching. I can bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its application in the lab, offering students a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the scientific concepts they are learning.
By incorporating my research background into the classroom, I aim to provide an educational experience that goes beyond the standard curriculum, inspiring students to think critically and engage with science in a way that is both relevant and exciting.

In my opinion, the best way to learn science is to interact with it. One of the main reasons of fails during highschool exams is learning biology by heart which takes a lot of resources and only leads to burnout.
During my classes, we are going to "simulate" real experiments, make bridges to real world problems to make a logical and relevant connections between learnt concepts.
Additionally, based on my experience, it's crucial not only to teach students the subject matter but also to help them develop their own routines for internalizing new concepts.
Finally, the IB school programs today emphasize the importance of developing a critical scientific mindset, and as a researcher myself, I am well-equipped to provide the best guidance in this area!
