I'm a half-British, half-Finnish native English speaker. I've lived in Finland for over 25 years, and started teaching soon after I arrived here. I've also worked as a journalist, translator, and general English expert in many roles and with many kinds of people.
As well as MA degrees in English and Philosophy, I am fully qualified from a pedagogical viewpoint.
I always provide a free introductory 30 minute session so a new student and I can get to know each other a little bit and discuss specific learning outcomes. Courses can range in length from just a couple of lessons for short instruction to several months for in-depth exam preparation. They are always tailored to the individual student's requirements.
I am based in Ekenäs/Tammisaari. Classes can be held in person in the Raseborg area, or online.
I also speak Swedish - undervisning i svenska är möjlig!

Hello! I provide instruction in two amazing subjects - English and Philosophy. At least, I think they're amazing, and hopefully you will too!
The contents and length of your English course will vary depending on your needs. If you want to brush up your English skills for an IELTS exam, we can do that. Need to improve your grades for high school? No problem. Maybe you're a college student trying to unravel the mysteries of phrasal verbs - let's work it out together!
English courses could include: exam preparation (high school, lukio, university, IELTS, etc.), conversational English (all ages), business English, profession-specific English (military, medical, political, etc.).
I have an interactive, motivating, student-focussed style of teaching. I love the subjects I teach, and I love to see people learning about them. I'm very sociable and friendly, and emphasise comfort and respect in my classes.
I am also fully qualified with a TEFL certificate, PGCE, Finnish Board of Education teaching qualification, and Master's degrees in both English Language and Philosophy.
